Weekend Survival Kit

Over the last 10 years, Kit provided homeless Baltimore City students with backpacks. The backpacks, which are filled with food for three individuals for a weekend, contain nutritionally balanced food that meets the needs for healthy child development. The program began serving 12 or so children and has grown to 285 backpacks in 12 schools.  Hearts Place Services partners with Maryland Food Bank and participating schools to purchase the and distribute the backpacks.

BWGC funds provide Weekend Survival Kit to add an additional 38 families in the coming year.
