Baltimore Women's Giving Circle

Membership

Baltimore Women’s Giving Circle is a fund of the Baltimore Community Foundation and is a tax-exempt organization.

The membership funds collected each year help determine the number of grants the Circle can award. The Circle awards grants of up to $25,000 once each year. Members come together to select the grant recipients from the pool of applicants. Recipients are announced in May each year.

Members make an annual membership contribution to the Baltimore Women’s Giving Circle, a fund of the Baltimore Community Foundation. The Circle offers a three-tiered membership plan of $2500, $1200, and $600 in addition to several payment options. You may select the membership plan that is personally meaningful and aligns with your philanthropic goals. The amount of your membership contribution will not be disclosed, and you may adjust your contribution amount on an annual basis. As you proceed with registration you are presented with these options for membership contributions and payment options.

Circle members are eligible to serve on committees, participate in member activities, and entitled to one vote to select that year’s grant recipients.

The Circle hopes to give each member a meaningful and personal philanthropic experience. There is no time commitment required of members. Instead, each member can do as little or as much as her schedule allows.  For members interested in getting involved, the Circle offers a variety of activities. Four times each year members gather together for lunch and a presentation by a member of the community on a topic of interest in the community. The Education committee offers speakers throughout the year and Circle Works, a subcommittee of the Post-Grants committee, offers members opportunities to interact with our grantees and the people they serve. Every committee offers members a variety of ways to get involved.
