Mobile Health Center

The Mobile Health Center, a new 40-foot van fitted with two private exam rooms and an interview area, will remove traditional barriers to primary care, patient education, and crisis intervention. On a bi-weekly schedule, the van spends a half day each at three elementary schools (women can walk in after leaving their children at school); at The Well, a women’s center for healing from trauma; and at housing for community elders.  The truck is staffed by a driver who doubles as registrar, a nurse practitioner and a social worker.

BWGC funds will support staffing and outreach for the van and maternal support group supplies.
