Journey to Independence for Homeless Women and their Children

Baltimore Outreach Services (BOS) operates a 24-hour per day, 365 days per year, 40-bed emergency shelter program that provides housing, education, jobs and other supportive services to homeless women and children. Their program works to combat the cycle of homelessness by addressing its underlying causes, thereby promoting long-term independence. In addition to the fundamental needs of food, shelter and basic personal necessities, BOS provides comprehensive case management, job training, education and employment search assistance, health and mental services, substance abuse treatment services, life skills training and housing placement.

Funding from The Baltimore Women's Giving Circle will help provide a range of services including health/mental services, culinary job training, employment search assistance and placement, life skills classes including mindfulness and Circle of Security, academic services including tutoring and homework assistance.
