BioSTART and Laboratory Associates Program

Candidates complete BioSTART and then a nine-week Laboratory Associates program which builds hands-on lab skills and prepares them for an entry-level lab position.  The Laboratory Associates Program is approved by the Maryland Higher Education Commission and includes 20 hours a week of instruction in academics and technical lab skills.  Successful candidates are eligible for 7 credits toward an Associate of Applied Science degree at Baltimore City Community College.  Since its founding, in 1998, BTI has trained more than 500 students and placed over 400.

BWGC funds will support  ten single mothers in the BioSTART and Lab Associates Training programs.
