Books for Me is a home library outreach initiative aimed at underserved parents/caregivers of children from birth to five. The Pratt works with community organizations to identify families to receive a Wi-Fi enabled tablet to attend virtual workshops where best early literacy practices are modeled, and to connect to Pratt Library resources. Participants are encouraged to use the training to actively read to their children. Families also receive several high quality books via mail each month.
BWGC funds will help to expand the Books for Me program from 85 families to 160 next year. Our funds will pay for additional tablets for the families new to the program
