Enoch Pratt Free Library Book Buggy

Baltimore’s Enoch Pratt Free Library currently has one Book Buggy (BB). This brightly painted van brings books, computers, educational materials, and enrichment activities, such as story times, to nine Women and Infant Centers and 24 daycare facilities in underserved communities in Baltimore City.

The BB service aims to reach women and children who may not have the chance to visit a Pratt branch, and help teach vital literacy skills that promote education and self-sufficiency. In 2016, BB provided 178 library programs to nearly 2500 children, mothers, and caregivers.

The Baltimore Women’s Giving Circle grant helped Book Buggy continue and expand its services.
