Through Baltimore Leadership School for Young Women (BLSYW) engages students in learning through a strong school culture and innovative teaching practice that nurtures the development of the whole young woman - emotionally, physically and academically. It is a public school for girls in grades 6th through 12 grade. The curriculum provides individualized approaches to academics and personal growth, college and career success planning. School staff work with students and families to provide appropriate community support. The young women of BLSYW demonstrate leadership at every level - self, school, and society. The BLSYW Way embodies leadership, girl power, college readiness, high expectations and a strong support network. Through academics and social emotuonal learning, BLSYW students are taught to develop a strong sense of self, sisterhood, compassion and good decision-making.
The Baltimore Women's Giving grant will be used for general operating funds.
