Mercy's Family Violence Response Program

Identified by emergency staff or other hospital staff, FVRP professionals respond immediately. Together the FVRP social worker and client create a personalized Safety Plan. The Program links the client to community service providers and conducts follow-up (e.g., emergency shelter, legal, law enforcement). In 2019 the FVRP served 727 individuals, almost all of them women. Additionally, the FVRP conducted 28 training sessions (770 attendees total) for health professionals in the city, to improve their assessment and treatment of victims.

BWGC funds supports salaries of FVRP staff.
