Tahirih follows a holistic model for protection and empowerment that combines free legal and social services case management with bridge-building policy advocacy and research-based training and education. They assist their clients—all of whom are eligible for humanitarian protections under U.S. law—to navigate the immigration system, achieve stable legal status, and access resources to meet basic needs. By amplifying the voices of survivors seeking justice in communities, courts, and Congress, they seek to create a world where all may enjoy equality and live in safety and with dignity and opportunities for themselves and their families.

Support from the BWGC will allow Tahirih Justice Center to sustain and enhance its local organizational capacity over the coming year, bolstering its interdisciplinary staff’s ability to support more immigrant survivors in Baltimore.
